Don’t let the unassuming facade of Yanagiya deceive you.

The rainy season is almost over, which means we’re about to enter the serious summer heat here in Tokyo. One of the best ways to make those steamy nights a little more bearable is to visit some of the many summer festivals taking place all over the city.

Kobe is the 6th largest city of Japan, and most well-known for being the best place to eat premium Japanese wagyu beef. But more than high-quality restaurants and shopping malls, this dynamic harbor city provides many different kinds of attractions, like the ones I’d like to introduce below.

I came to Chiba for work. My stomach was growling in the middle of the night so I went to eat ramen with my team members. Here is Ramen Yokozuna. It’s a very Japanese name. Yokozuna is the highest level of a sumo wrestler.

By the time I was in 8th grade, I knew that I wanted to move to America. I ended up going to college in America and I have lived here over half of my life. When I first left Japan, I felt a sense of bitterness about growing up as a hafu.
